Public Editorial Independence & Standards Policy
Editorial independence
The Current Campaign is an independent publication of human-authored journalism, analysis, and opinion. Publication does not mean every contributor or the Editor-in-Chief endorses every view expressed.
Personal views and professional affiliations
Contributors write in a personal capacity. The views, opinions, and conclusions expressed are their own and do not represent the views or official positions of their current or former employers, colleagues, clients, educational institutions, professional associations, or other affiliated organizations. No such organization sponsors, authorizes, or endorses a contribution merely because of a contributor’s employment or affiliation. Any reference to a contributor’s professional background is for context only and does not imply organizational approval or endorsement.
Associated Author
Articles ordinarily appear under the collective byline “Associated Author” so readers can judge arguments on their merits. The Publication does not ordinarily confirm or deny individual identities, subject to law. A contributor may voluntarily request a future identity reveal; a scheduled notice appears only after the contributor’s written consent and the Editor-in-Chief’s approval. A scheduled disclosure can be withdrawn before it occurs.
Facts, opinions, and corrections
We seek accuracy in factual reporting, clearly distinguish fact from interpretation, and correct material errors. Strong criticism and disagreement are welcome; unpopular opinions are not themselves factual errors. Corrections or editorial responses may be identified separately from the author’s original prose.
Human writing and AI
Editorial prose is written by people, not generated by AI. AI tools may assist with background research and source discovery, but factual claims require independent verification.
Copyright and reuse
Unless otherwise indicated, original published content is protected by copyright. Requests for republication, licensing, and other permissions should be directed to the Publication. Lawful quotation, commentary, and fair use remain available under applicable law.
